Training Program categories act as a grouping for your training programs, and can be used to display those programs to learners in a streamlined, easy to understand way. They can also be used for reporting.

Categories are optional but recommended, even if you don't choose to display the categories to learners, it is still a good organisation tool for Admins/program managers. You can add or change categories for programs at any time. 

Examples of categories could be:

  • Induction Training (which may include programs for each of the stages or weeks of the learner's induction)
  • Sales or Customer Service (which may include role/skills based programs, induction programs, and/or optional learning)
  • Safety (which may include programs around equipment safety, food hygiene safety, personal safety, cyber safety, and more, depending on your industry)

To toggle the Program Categories display on for your learners:

  1. Click your profile avatar in the top right corner, and select System Settings
  2. Under Module Settings, scroll down to Training (note: this module may be called something else if your business has chosen to re-name it)
  3. Change the My Training Display from Programs to Program Categories (1)
  4. If you want to display uncategorised programs (recommended), tick the box (2)
  5. Click Save to apply the changes.
     

Before you toggle this view on, for the best end-user experience we strongly recommended you apply categories to all your programs first! Here's a tutorial on managing categories.
