Op Central has various notifications across every module of the system; all are generated by certain actions or events. They will appear under the bell icon in the toolbar, as a +1 number for each notification. Here are some examples (but by no means an exhaustive list):

  • When an event (in the Calendar dashboard widget) is published and you have permission to see it
  • When a news article is published and you have permission to see it (required reading NOT toggled on)
  • When a news article is published and "Notify Users" has been ticked (you will also receive an email and a push notification to the mobile app, if installed)
  • When a policy is published and the "Notify Users" box is ticked (required reading NOT toggled on)
  • When an Audit submission has been received and you are set to be notified (you will also receive an email)
  • If you have been tagged in a comment anywhere across the system

The number on the bell icon shows how many unread notifications you have. By clicking that, you can see the most recent notifications and click on any that you want to view. For example, clicking on a recently published news article notification will open that news article, and also clear the notification at the same time.

If you would like to clear the notification but not go to the associated content, you simply click the coloured dot on the notification you would like to clear.

If you would like to clear ALL your notifications at once, click on the "View All" button, and using the popup that appears, click the "Mark all Read" button.
