You can make changes/edits to most activities, without affecting learner completion status or reporting. Once a learner has completed an activity, they will not be required to do it again (unless it is required as part of another program).
Adding new activities to a Training Program will change the learner completion status and/or percentage on the Reporting page and require them to complete the new activities, regardless of whether the program completions has been enabled or not.
Below is a short summary of what you can update and what it will effect:
- E-learning (basic or scorm) - Updating existing activities does not change completion statuses. Creating new activities does, and all users will need to complete the new e-learning activities to be marked as complete for the training program.
- Quizzes - Updating existing quiz activities does not affect completions. Creating new quiz activities does affect completions, and all users will need to complete them in order to be marked as completed for the program (similar to e-learning above).
- Manual Assessments & Observations - Editing existing Manual Assessment or Observation activities WILL affect any learners that are in progress, or waiting for assessment/observation. It will clear (reset) their answers and they will need to submit the assessment again from the beginning. Once cleared, previous submissions cannot be restored. Assessments in the status of "Complete" will not have their statuses changed or removed. Creating new activities works the same as other activities, they must be completed by all learners.
- Workshops - Editing existing activities does not change completions. Creating new workshop activities does, and all users will need to complete them for their program status to be marked as complete.
- Policies - Adding a new policy to the program will require learners to sign off on the policy to be marked as complete for the program. Editing an existing policy (must be done through Manuals/Work Central) does not require a learner to sign off on it through the program, however you can enable the "required reading" or "notify users" toggle on the policy permissions, if you want users to know about the change.
